Violet Streak is a complicated woman and has been called a shameless flirt. When she’s not busying herself dressing hair in the salon, or performing in burlesque shows, you will most likely find her, still in rollers, mothering her darling daughter.
Violet and Lizzy- I am so so so happy you decided to do this! It’s so great to see you breaking down the outdated and suffocating notion that parenthood divides one from their passions. What an inspiration to all! Can’t wait to keep reading!

I am with you! My daughter found my pasties and having never seen me put them on, she put them on herself in just the right spot! A few weeks ago we were listening to “Bourbon in your eyes” so I could run through my number in my head and she said “I love this song, bird poop in your eyes.” Yes, we have to laugh, have fun, and not take ourselves too seriously! Hope to see you soon!
When I was making my first pasties in Oct 2005, I took them with me everywhere like knitting. I’d gone with my ex to watch the Blue Angels during Fleet Week and was sewing the rhinestone braid onto the pasties as I sat on a parking lot curb in the Marina. When asked what I was making I said, “Christmas ornaments.” I wasn’t ready to announce to strangers I was making pasties and then have to explain. I’m finally wearing them in an act now, 6 years later. Yay!
I wish I was in NYC. never been there. Obviously I need a patron to buy me a ticket to be in your show!! and I have heard of your show! I have much love and appreciation for all the other burlesque mama’s out there!
